Lucerne Dry lake...in the Lucerne Valley, a few miles east of Victorville in the Mojave Dessert of California, is the home of the Rocketry Organization of California. For over 20 years, Lucerne has hosted innumerable rocket launches including countless V2’s.

V2’s don’t usually fly well at Lucerne, to put it mildly, unless you are Kurt Gugisberg. While many of the failures have been mundane, some have been downright spectacular (and not to mention scary).

In an effort to finally break the V2 curse, there was a mass launch of the venerable rocket at many scales in June 2008 at ROCStock XXVII.
