OK, after crashing COSMICThing and COSMICThing II, I decided to build something smaller than the 12”, 17’ behemoths that had dominated my garage for the past three years. I love chocolate, but not sugar, so I really like Bittersweet chocolate. In honor of my habit and my the fact that I had to build a third L3 certification rocket, Bittersweet seemed like an appropriate name. After a test flight in September 2005 at XPRS I discovered that Kevlar sock is not strong in one direction. Some cracks needed repairs after that hard landing at Black Rock, but Bittersweet was repaired by ROCStock XXIII in June 2006 and flown successfully for my L3 Certification on June 10th, 2006.
